Kawasaki KLX230 S Overview
The Kawasaki KLX230 S has been spied once again, just a few days after the dual-sport bike was spotted testing for the second time. It was spied for the first time in India two months before that. Expected to be heavily localised, it will be the first road-legal Japanese dual-sport bike that will be sold in the country.
It is likely to be priced under Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom) and we expect it to be priced between Rs 2.5- 2.7 lakh. The KLX230 S is expected to launch in early 2025.
The Kawasaki KLX 230 S is powered by a 233cc air-cooled 2-valve single-cylinder engine which produces 19PS and 19.8Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The bike is equipped with a perimeter frame, it has a 37mm telescopic fork with 158mm wheel travel, and a monoshock with 168mm rear wheel travel. Braking is managed by 240mm front and 220mm rear petal discs. It gets dual-channel ABS, with the rear being switchable. The KLX230 S rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels. With a seat height of 830mm, it has a kerb weight of 134kg.
The bike gets a simple LCD instrument cluster, which shows only the essential information, that includes a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, and a digital clock. The bike has a 7.5-litre fuel tank capacity.
The Kawasaki KLX230 S will be a more expensive alternative to the Hero Xpulse 200 4V.
